The Lost Boys Ratlings

In December 2010, our first litter was born to LB Florin and LB Hiccup. We had a nice mixture of varigated hooded rats (chocolate brown, black and agouti in colour) and roan (most grey roan, some agouti roan). Our lovely girl did fantastically as a first time mum and was an absolute star with us, trusting us to come over and touch her little ones as soon as they were born. Sadly, she lost 1 on the first night but she did well to raise a litter of 13 by herself.

The new little rats were re-homed once they were 6-7 weeks old and we ended up keeping 4 (3 boys and 1 little girl to keep mum company). LB Florin had one more litter in May this year before retiring as a triumphant mum to 14 new Dumbo ratties. Our next litters are literally just around the corner. LB Lottie was recently paired with LB Thor and we're looking forward to a new litter of little ones.

Finally, after some very patient rehabilitation, we managed to pair our Lost Boy with LB Hiccup so they are now living together peacefully. I can't tell you how much happier both of them are already with company so the long hours we put in introducing and re-introducing paid off.
